Fender Standard Stratocaster MN Candy Cola — The Icon Returns

Fender Standard Stratocaster MN Candy Cola revives one of the most influential electric guitar designs in popular music. Introduced by Fender in 1954, the Stratocaster set a new template with its contoured double-cutaway body, three-pickup layout, and synchronized tremolo — features that still define modern electric guitar design. This 2025 Standard Series model keeps that DNA intact while updating the build for today's players.

Finished in a rich Candy Cola red over a poplar body, this instrument delivers the Fender experience at an accessible price point. Awarded Best of NAMM 2025 by All Things Gear for standout quality, design, and value, it pairs vintage-inspired aesthetics with modern playability.

What Sets This Strat Apart

Built around Fender Standard ceramic single-coil pickups, this guitar produces the high-output, articulate tone that has shaped countless rock, blues, and country records. The 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with satin chrome steel block saddles offers smoother arming action and improved tuning return compared to vintage-style six-saddle designs.

Designed in California and assembled overseas, the Standard Series brings genuine Fender performance to a wider audience. The Modern "C" neck profile with a satin urethane back finish feels broken-in from day one, while the gloss urethane headstock face adds a touch of classic Fender visual identity.

Poplar Body and Gloss Finish — Lightweight, Stage-Ready

The poplar body keeps the instrument comfortable for long sets, while the gloss polyurethane finish protects the Candy Cola paintwork from belt-buckle wear and stage sweat. The classic double-cutaway shape provides easy access to the upper frets for lead playing.

• Poplar body provides a balanced weight with a neutral tonal foundation that lets the pickups speak clearly.
• Body Finish: Gloss Polyurethane — durable, low-maintenance surface that resists scratches and holds its shine.
• Pickguard: 3-Ply White — clean contrast against the Candy Cola body for unmistakable Strat visual identity.

Modern "C" Maple Neck — Built for Speed and Comfort

The bolt-on maple neck with a Modern "C" profile sits comfortably in the hand, whether you're playing open chords or stretching across the upper register. The 9.5" fingerboard radius strikes a balance between vintage feel and modern bending capability, while medium-jumbo frets support expressive vibrato and clean note articulation.

• Neck Material: Maple — bright, snappy response with strong upper-mid presence.
• Fingerboard Material: Maple — smooth playing surface with crisp attack and visual continuity with the neck.
• Fingerboard Radius: 241 mm (9.5") — comfortable for both chord work and lead bends.
• Scale Length: 648 mm (25.5") — classic Fender scale for tight low-end and articulate highs.
• Nut Width: 42.86 mm (1.6875") — narrow enough for fast single-note runs, wide enough for fingerstyle.
• Number of Frets: 21 — full two-octave range with medium-jumbo profile for expressive bending.

SSS Pickups and 2-Point Tremolo — The Classic Strat Voice

Three Fender Standard ceramic single-coil Stratocaster pickups feed a master volume and dual-tone control layout, with a 5-position blade switch unlocking the full range of Strat tones — from glassy neck-position cleans to quacky middle positions to biting bridge leads. The 2-point tremolo with screw-in arm invites everything from subtle pitch shimmer to full dive-bombing.

• Pickup Configuration: SSS (three single-coils) — the iconic Stratocaster pickup layout.
• Bridge: Standard 2-Point Tremolo with Satin Chrome Steel Block Saddles — improved tuning stability and smooth arming feel.
• Tuning Machines: Fender Standard Cast/Sealed with Hex Buttons — reliable, low-maintenance tuning stability.
• Strings: Nickel Plated Steel (.009–.042 Gauges) — flexible tension for rhythm and lead playing.

Who Should Play This Model

This model is the right choice for intermediate players, gigging musicians, and Strat enthusiasts who want authentic Fender tone and feel without stepping into American Ultra or Custom Shop pricing. It suits players who need a flexible workhorse guitar that covers clean rhythm, blues leads, country chicken pickin', and classic rock crunch from a single instrument.

Studio players will appreciate the SSS pickup layout's broad tonal palette, while live performers benefit from the lightweight poplar body and the tuning stability of the 2-point tremolo. First-time Fender buyers get a guitar that feels familiar from the first chord, thanks to the Modern "C" neck and 9.5" radius — a setup that has launched countless careers since 1954.

Fender and the Stratocaster Legacy

Fender introduced the Stratocaster in 1954 as a refinement of the Telecaster, adding the now-iconic double-cutaway body, three-pickup configuration, and synchronized tremolo bridge. More than seven decades later, the Strat remains the most copied electric guitar design in history, played by everyone from Buddy Holly and Jimi Hendrix to John Mayer and Eric Clapton.

The 2025 Standard Series marks the return of the Standard name to Fender's lineup, bringing the core Strat experience to players at an accessible price. Awarded Best of NAMM 2025 by All Things Gear, this model carries that legacy forward with modern playability and unmistakable Fender character.
